This special adhesive sticks even under water!

For all types of SUP and inflatable repair work, this adhesive offers an optimal adhesive solution. The contained solvent mixture dissolves the plastic PVC surface. This leads to a so-called swelling weld bonding of the two PVC parts to be joined. The additionally contained formulation components improve the dissolving and enable an optimized joint filling.

Repair bonding with this technicoll® adhesive can even be carried out under water!

This special adhesive belongs to the group of "cold welding agents" and is therefore very well suited for precision-fit bonding.

The adhesive has a processing time of 10 - 30 seconds. Initial strength is achieved after only a few minutes. Since this is "cold welding", the bonded parts must be well fixed until the initial strength is reached. Caution: Air and water temperatures below +15 °C can lead to reduced bonding results!

Important: The adhesive must be applied to both surfaces, but in a very thin layer. Technicoll 8002 works on the principle of "cold welding"—meaning the adhesive slightly softens the TPU surface, allowing the materials to bond directly with each other when pressed together. If too much adhesive is applied, a thick layer forms that prevents the two TPU layers from welding together cleanly. A thin, even layer is therefore crucial for achieving maximum strength.

Please do not use solvents for cleaning. Solvents can damage the TPU coating or alter the surface in a way that impairs the effectiveness of the cold-welding bond. Simply cleaning the surface with clear water and a little mild soap, then allowing it to dry completely, is sufficient.

Shelf Life:
At least 3 years when stored in a cool, dry place in the sealed original container. The filling date is embossed on the tube crimp, and this date serves as the official starting point for calculating the minimum shelf life of at least 3 years. The marking on the tube crimp ensures clear traceability and supports proper storage and quality control.

Application

Bonding of flexible PVC foils to one another, as well as to rigid PVC and other materials.

Due to the large number of possible materials and differences in adhesion behavior, adhesion tests are necessary before practical use.

Substrate preparation

The surfaces to be glued must be clean, and in particular free of oil, grease or release agents.

Processing

The adhesive is applied on one side (small areas) or on both sides in a very thin, even and covering layer with a brush, spatula or roller. Absorbent, rough surfaces usually require a slightly heavier application or a second application after the first has dried.

Immediately after applying the adhesive, the substrates are joined together with light contact pressure. It must be ensured that the bonded materials remain in contact. If necessary, press again until a sufficient initial tack is reached and fix against slipping.

An assessment of the final strength and resistance can only be made after a few days!

Specific property

Repairs to minor damage to swimming pool liners made of soft PVC can also be carried out under water. To do this, the appropriate PVC repair patch is coated with the adhesive and immediately pressed under water on the damaged area and rubbed in until the necessary initial adhesion is achieved. Air and water temperatures below +15 °C can lead to reduced bonding results!
